Keppel Marine

Went to Keppel Marina yesterday for food and drinks, after going round and round Vivo without luck for a parking lot.

The view was great! Of all the parked boats there.

Had dinner at Prive.

Food was ok.... Portion was extremely small..... Price was kinda high.

Blow 100 dollars there that night. Just had a small pie, a pasta, 1 squid with a not spicy chilli sauce, a bowl of $10 fries and 2 drinks. Ha ha ha....

So.... go there and have drinks! Don't eat!

Trip to Muri

Lucky me, I got to go to Muri, Switzerland for work. In fact its 3.42 am now in Muri. But I can't sleep anymore. Maybe becos I slept in the evening just now. And also the fact I am jet lagged and its 10.50am, in Singapore, where I am usually wide awake!

The place is damm nice. I want to retire here. But the place is damm ex too.

Some photos I took on the first day.

Just to show you some interesting ones :

This is the hotel I am staying in. Hotel Ochsen since 1878

Thats my bed!

My Dinner! We went to this authentic Swiss restaurant. Authentic as it is, the whole menu was in German! We tried for 1/2 hour, then called for help. Luckily the lady boss was very friendly and knows english quite well. I got this rosti with eggs and cheese. Very nice!

Of course, I didn't wanted to be vegetarian and all. I asked the lady, do they have anything in smaller portion, but is meat. She didn't quite get it, but we end up having an understanding. So she intro-ed me to this dish : Kl Bundner Teller. Its air dried meat! Very nice! Dried in the mountain caves. The texture is chewy. Taste very savoury. It would go very well with the wine.

Day 1 damage : Pocket left with 317.50 CHF. Spent 83.50 CHF already :P Not counting my internet bill, which is 15 CHF. But I have like 5 mins left as I am typing this sentence, so I guess, it means I need to pay another 45CHF for 20 hours :P

Morning everyone!

Lesson : How to clean bird Shit from your Car

Don't you hate the birds in Singapore? Why can't they be toilet train, instead of shitting all over the place, specifically on yours and my car?

Well, nothing I can do about it. But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be reminded to clean off all bird shit as soon as you can.

Heres a quick how to do :

Tools : Water, Tissue

Method :

1. Swear loudly (Swear silently if you are with your mum, GF, Wife or beautiful colleagues which you are thinking of making into the above mentioned)

2. Take out your handy bottle of water and a few pieces of tissue.

3. Soak Tissue with water

4. Soak bird shit with water (swearing again in the process)

5. Wait for bird shit to be totally soak and it will dislodge

6. Pour water over the patch

Bird shit are highly toxic. They come in white, green and orange colours (or so I have seen). Now you know how to clear them.

Car Washing again!!

Washed my car again today, as always....

Washing car is hard! I started at about 5.30pm and finished at 7.45pm. Yes! I took 2 hours 15 mins! Woah!

Report Card :

Every inch of the car is deeply washed with tender loving care. No dust, sand, dirt is present. I wonder why Singapore is sooooo dusty. My car is like immersed in dust every week.

Every inch of the car is also deeply waxed with Turtle Wax! Thats the thing that took bulk of the time.

Chin Up : Zero Fighter

7 more sessions to go!!!

The Terminal

Have you watched this movie before? As almost all Tom Hank's movie, its a fantastic production. Before this movie, I am sure you are familar with "Forrest Gump", "Saving Private Ryan", "Band of Brothers". But, I will reserve those for another day. Below the main plot, I feel that there is a lesson to be learnt always.

The Terminal, a story about a man that stays in the Airport Terminal due to the weirdest reason. I went to read about it. Its actually based on a true story! A man really lived in the Airport of Paris for 18 years! I am simply amazed by it.

Tom Hanks acting was simply fantastic. You really believe that he was a native from some Soviet state. The accent, the way he acts..... Simply fantastic. The absolutely amazing rate of learning, the wonderous skill in construction and capenting, every seconds there seems to be something new from this man!

Catherine Zeta-Jone. Another fantastic lady. Wow! Charming, hot..... Charming.... HOT... Haa haa.... How do all these actresses stay so attractive? Then again, or is the character of the character that draws her to me? It might be. The warm, simple, 'I need you' feeling perhaps is something that is "my cup of tea".

Of the story, I shall say no more. Laughter, heart-warming, amazment (is there such a word?), love.... They are all inside. Should no spoil too much of it for you then. But what I remember deeply from the movie is the word "Wait".

We are always waiting. Waiting to finish studies, waiting for bus, waiting for pay day, waiting for the right person to come by. We wait. What are we really waiting for? What are you waiting for?

By the way, I think I watched this movie at least 3 times......

Car Washing !!!

Yet again, its sunday! Yes! Besides it being the day before a working day, its also my routine car washing day! Today, I decide give my car a good wax, besides just the normal washing. So as usual, I give the car a good rinse, clearing away all the dust and such.... Then comes the "car shampoo" washing away all the dirt and dust and most importantly all the bird shit. Well, I will come to that laters......

After shampoo, comes rinsing again, drying off..... Then waxing! First time I wax my car.... I used Turtle wax! Hopefully it will give a good "shell protection!" Waxing is tough..... You got to cover every part of your car. After that, you got to make sure that you wipe off everything! Thats tough! You kinda of like need to wipe your car 3 times!

Washing your car is always a lousy experience. Cos every time you wash it, you will find more aesthetic defects. Which makes you highly depress....... Mine have quite a few already. Feeling the hard ache. Oh yeah, please remember to clean off all bird shit immediately! THEY ARE HIGHLY ACIDIC! Haa haa....

Now the car feels different. The waxy feeling. It sparkles! Despite all the defects, I think it looks great! Its nice having a clean car..... So give yours a shine today!

Driver's Corner

Shop Name : Driver's Corner
Address : 18 Lim Tua Tow Road

Tuck at a corner of Lim Tua Tow Road near Serangoon Shopping Centre is this car accessories and installation shop. Its a small shop, with a very good name. Ha ha..... This shop isn't like mega marts like Autobacs or Silent, more like a small homely one. But it has many things. The people are quite friendly too. The boss is a young looking guy, that can easily talk to. Went to install my blue LED Sill Plate today. Will have some picture soon.

Recommend for those that wants to do lightings. They seem very pro. I have the website link on my blog. Do go and browse through their ware. Unfortunately, they do not have my HAC! But then again, I probably will install HAC with my friend. Thinking whether to install a key light. But that seems a bit bo liao.... Ha ha ha. At least Sill Plate is nicer is more obvious. They close at 7pm Mon-Fri and 3pm sat.

the Rajah Inn - Porridge Buffet

Name: The Rajah Inn
Cuisine : Porridge Buffet
Address : 302 Tiong Bahru Road #02-13/14/15Tiong Bahru Plaza

Went to have porridge buffet with my colleagues that day, at Tiong Bahru Plaza. Always heard about this porridge buffet, but never get a chance to eat it. So decided to go that day. A whole 10 of us!

Its actually a very simple spread. I remember the first time I ate this was at Suntec City Convention Hall. But there was much more expensive. Here you get free flow of porridge, which I felt was very good. And also about 10-20 dishes of porridge fare, like eggs, braised meat, Lup Chong aka waxed sausage and many more. Actually these fare are quite normal and its actually quite salty, but thats why it went well with the porridge. The best dish there have to be the fried fish. quite nicely flavoured with salt and spice.

The place is cramped, especially during the lunch time period. Though the staff are quite attentive and clear your plates fast enough. To me, its quite ok to have lunch here once in a while. But not too often. You will soon get sick of the salti-ness and the same spread. Its $6.90++ and starts at 11.30am to 3pm daily.

Yes Yes Yes! - Yes Man

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Are you a Yes Man or a No Man? Haaa Haa Haa....

Went to watch this interesting show. Jim Carrey did not disappoint me in this movie. I laugh right from the starting all the way till the end.....

But amidst all the jokes and laughter, I think there is something to learn from the movie. Whether is it the No Man right at the beginning, or the Yes Man after the transformation, it tells us that saying No or Yes to everything without thinking, is not the way to go! We should only say Yes if we really mean it. And only then, good things will follow. Blindly following a method will not empower us fully.

This show is a good show if you are in for a laugh. After laughing, make sure you learn something too!
